Haringey Irish Pensioners 2011
The Haringey Irish Pensioners are a voluntary social organisation set up in 2005 working towards improving the quality of life of Irish Pensioners. They aim to target social isolation and loneliness and believe this can be achieved through the various social activities and events they co-ordinate.
One project undertaken by two active committee members, Eileen & Moira, was the renovation of a piece of derelict ground in the Centre’s car park which they transformed into an oasis of colour and scent. This was achieved through hard work and dedication in the cultivating and planting a variety of flowers and shrubs for the enjoyment of all.
During the forthcoming year Haringey Irish Pensioners will organise:
- 22nd September 2011, Thursday, Tea Dance – 1.00 p.m.
- 21st October 2011, Friday, The Rambling House, Classic Variety Show
- 27th October 2011, Thursday, Tea Dance – 1.00 p.m. & AGM – 4.30 p.m.
- 24th November 2011, Thursday, Tea Dance – 1.00 p.m. Memorial Mass 12.00 a.m. Sharp
- 4 th December 2011, Sunday, Show-Time, The Big Choir - 2.00 p.m. (Charity Alzheimer Society)
- 15th December 2011, Thursday, Christmas Buffet Dance Party, 1p.m. - 5 p.m.
