HOUSING YOUNG IRISH PEOPLE IN LONDON

Causeway Irish Housing Association was established in 1986 in response to the disproportionate numbers of young Irish people amongst London’s homeless. Causeway provides temporary housing for young Irish people, aged 18-31. The majority of Causeway housing is shared, and as such, tenants will have their own room but will usually share a kitchen, bathroom and possibly a lounge and garden.

Areas covered in Causeway’s housing stock include Haringey, Hackney, Enfield, Barnet, Hammersmith & Fulham, Wandsworth, and Southwark.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for housing with Causeway, please contact our office Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm on 020 8365 1751 to obtain an application form, or visit our website www.irishcauseway.org.uk. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35. If you meet our criteria you will be invited for an interview at our office. Interviews usually take place on Wednesdays.

Please note that priority is given to Irish applicants. Causeway recognises the discrimination faced by minorities within the Irish community and therefore welcomes application from black Irish people, travellers, those affected by HIV and AIDS, lesbians, gay men and those people who are marginalised by their life experiences.

Applicants must provide one form of photo identification and a character reference from someone known in a professional capacity. Please note that Causeway Irish Housing Association operates a ‘one offer only policy’, meaning that if a housing vacancy is refused you will be rejected from our waiting list.
